Marshalls University College head to this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship without a couple of veteran player David Asingar.

The 2018 UPAC commences on March 3 reportedly and will feature over 30 tertiary institutions in Ghana compete in thrilling fashion close to eight weeks.

2017 Silver medalist Marshalls are expected to have another go at the winning the trophy following last year’s 21-45 loss to University of Ghana (UG) in the final game.

Per Coach James Okine, his side will be without Forward David Asingar for the upcoming competition next month.

Nigerian Power Forward Asingar has played a key role in Marshalls rise to the elite level with his enterprising and energetic play.

He helped his side claim back to back Private Universities Sports Association Games (PUSAG) Basketball Titles.

He received a Tertiary Player of the Year nomination at the 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards but missed out on the top prize.

Despite the absence of his key Forward, Okine is adamant his side will rise to the challenge.
