Heat (white)- Tema Rockets in action
Competing teams in the Battle Ground Tournament set to be held at Tema’s Community Court this weekend have been drawn into groups.

The tournament is the final warm up event ahead of this year’s Tema Basketball League which reportedly starts in late March.

Eight teams have been penciled to play in Battle Ground and have been grouped into two pools in the preliminary stage.

Reigning league champions Tema Community 4 headlines Group B which has Tema Heat, Nungua Coldstore and Akatsi Rifles.

Group A has two time league finalist Ashaiman Lions drawn against familiar foe Ghana Police, Tema Community 2 and Teshie Rangers.

The competition is set to end on March 11 when the final game will be played; the top team in each group advances to the final.

Group B is the outright tougher sect since it has the former and defending champions Nungua Coldstore and C4 respectively.

Heat placed third in last season’s league competition after falling to C4 in the semifinal stage in the playoffs but recovered to pip Coldstore to the podium.
