KAAF v Regent (yellow)

Up until little over a day ago, Regent University College of Science and Technology was not part of the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship or the competition’s history entirely.

However, the team is officially part of the competition after stepping as a late replacement for University of Cape-Coast (UCC) who skipped the competition.

Despite having no experience playing in Ghana’s most competitive tertiary institutions basketball tournament, Regent has adapted well.

The team heads to the final round with a genuine shout to make the quarterfinals following two straight wins over Cape-Coast Technical University (CCTU) and KAAF University College.

Regent beat CCTU and KAAF 51-39 and 35-25 respectively in the opening games and takes on Zone 3 host University of Education-Winneba (UEW) in the last game of the day.

The game is of immense importance to either side as a win seals the winning team’s spot in the quarterfinals of this year’s Championship.

Like Regent, UEW is yet to lose a game heading to Game 3.
