Takoradi Technical University (TTU) has qualified to the quarterfinals of the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship quarterfinals.

The team topped Zone 2 in this year’s competition to make it through to the next stage; TTU missed out on qualification in last year’s event.

However, two straight wins over University of Mines and Technology (UMAT) were enough to get TTU back to the knockout round after GIMPA-Takoradi and GTUC-Takoradi pulled out late in the zone.

TTU Coach Owusu Ansah Ankrah was happy with qualification and stated, “I feel good it’s a great feat to win such a championship…we are happy about it” in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com

Ahead of the quarterfinals due to be staged in Accra in April, Ankrah expected big things from his side. He said, “My expectations are that we are coming into the finals to fight it all out for the win”.

TTU, All Nations University College and University of Education-Winneba have made it to the quarterfinals; the five remaining spots will be filled in the coming weeks by zonal winners.
