Fire (in blue) v Braves

Braves represented Ghana at the FIBA Zone 3 Club Championship in Nigeria.
The 2018 Accra Basketball League (ABL) season is at hand; the new season tips off on Wednesday March 21 at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu, Accra.

This year’s league will be played at the aforementioned venue and Prisons Court in Cantonments; the latter was not used as a venue last season.

It coincides with Prisons return to the ABL Male Division I after spending last season in Division II. The team’s female side also returns to feature in the women’s division.

The fixtures for the upcoming season will determined once the program concludes and this season is set to have 10 teams play in Division I. Braves of Customs are defending champions in the male division.

Six teams are reportedly set to play in the female competition with Braves of Customs as defending champions.

The promoted teams to Division I, Ghana Police, Prisons and Navy Warriors will join the seven team roster in last season’s league for the ballot.

Games in the Division II will be played later in the calendar year.
