Fixtures in the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship are set to commence at the Sunyani Technical University.

The host team has been drawn in the zone with Catholic University College, University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) and Kintampo College of Health.

UENR head to today’s competition as winners of the two previous zonal competitions and last year’s fourth placed team at the 2017 national competition.

This is the first time the competition will be held in Sunyani and will be hoping to emulate UENR’s title winning streak as host.

A new level of intrigue has been added ahead of the big clash between Sunyani Technical and UENR as ex UENR Coach Andrew Quansah leads the host team.

This is the first time Kintampo is competing in the Championship after stepping in as a replacement for Valley View University.

This is the third time Catholic University, STU and UENR are competing in the Championship; the zone’s top spot is up for grabs.

Winning the zone qualifies the successful team to the national championship.
