Sunyani Technical University (STU) Basketball Coach Andrew Quansah guided his side to triumph over his former team University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR).

STU beat UENR 23-8 to win Zone 4 and qualify to the national competition in this year’s UPAC Basketball Championship latter stage.

Competition in Zone 7 commences on Thursday March 22 at the Accra Technical University (ATU) with a place in the quarterfinals up for grabs.

Host ATU is in the zone with Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Wisconsin International University College and Valley View University.

Wisconsin appointed Albert Djan as Coach about a month ago ahead of the championship and his presence adds another interesting twist to tomorrow’s competition.

Djan coached GIMPA in the 2016 edition leading the team to the quarterfinals with a core featuring household names like Kwame Boamah Djan and Jake Morrison.

On Thursday, Djan faces his former team with a chance to beat them to Zone 7’s top spot and a place in the next stage of the 2018 UPAC.
