Islamic University College will make its debut in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship tomorrow.

The team will be in action as it takes on Marshalls University College, Ghana Technology University College and University of Professional Studies in Zone 7.

Competition in the zone will be played out on Saturday March 24 at the University of Ghana ; the zone’s winner qualifies to the national stage of the competition.

Islamic University is the lone side in the zone that has not played in the UPAC Championship ahead of this weekend’s competition.

However, team representative Ibrahim Mohammed Bague is confident heading to the games and is not perturbed by the institution being a novice in the zone.

“This is our first time in UPAC and we’ve trained long and hard for this competition. We are not expecting anything less than becoming victorious in this competition” he said in an interview with Basketballghana.com

Zone 8 remains the final stand in the preliminary stage after tomorrow’s games.
