The final zone in the 2018 UPAC Basketball Championship will be played out on Thursday March 29 at the University of Ghana main court.

With seven zones cleared, competition in the zone tomorrow ends proceedings in the preliminary stage of this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

Host UG, Radford University College, Pentecost University College and Regional Maritime University College have been drawn in the zone.

A place in the national stage is at stake and only the zone’s winner gets to qualify to play; the national competition runs from April 12-14.

However, Radford will be playing in the competition for the first time after missing out on the four previous editions of the UPAC Championship.

UG, Pentecost and Regional Maritime have featured in the tournament at least once; UG has been an ever present feature and has the past couple of titles.

Despite failing to qualify from the preliminary stage, Pentecost has an extensive run in the competition and Regional Maritime played last year.

Coming up against such teams is expected to be tough for novice Radford.
