The opening ceremony of this year’s Private Universities Sports Association Games (PUSAG) will be held today at the Paa Joe Stadium in Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Initial reports gathered by indicated the annual games will take place at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Athletes from several private tertiary institutions will compete in multiple sports disciplines including football, volleyball and table tennis.
The basketball competition is one of the most patronized events and this year’s edition is set to be better than previous ones.

Due to a host of teams participating and performing well in the UPAC Basketball Championship earlier in the year, the profiles of the respective teams have been raised.

Defending champions Marshalls University College leads the list of teams to contend for the title; should they be successful, this year’s trophy will be Marshalls third straight trophy.

The likes of Ghana Technology University College (GTUC), Radford University College and Central University are expected to contend for the title as well.
