Austin Spurs will play for a place in the NBA Gatorade League Finals later this week after securing a 117-91 win over Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the second round of the playoffs.

The win puts Spurs in the Western Conference Final and in line for a place in this season’s final series in the G League.

Vipers beat Texas Legends in the first round but exit the competition following the loss; Spurs on the other hand earned a bye in the first round after topping the Western Conference standings.

Ghana Center Amida Brimah played a key role in the win by recording 10 points, five rebounds, a steal and three blocks in 19 minutes.

The League top shot blocker paired with teammate Matt Costello to lockdown Vipers as Costello, ranked fourth in blocks in the regular season paced the game with four rejections.

Spurs will be in action on Thursday against the winner of South Bay Lakers-Reno Bighorns matchup tonight in the Conference Final.
