Tema Community 4 will commence its title defense this weekend when the 2018 Tema Basketball League season tips off.

The team will be in action against Akasti Rifles in a rematch after the two teams played each other in the AK Basketball Reunion Fun Games.

The annual event organized by Akatsi Rifles had members of C4’s Senior and Junior Teams compete against Rifles and a handful of teams in Akatsi.

Community 4 run out winners at the senior level and junior level with the senior side clinching a 64-58 win over Rifles.

After sweeping the team honors, Combo Guard Kent Fosu was named Most Valuable Player of the competition after sterling performances in the friendly competition.

Dignitaries including Prince Attipoe were honored for their continued support to Rifles and the development of basketball in Akatsi.

Rifles played in last season’s league campaign but missed out on the postseason which was won by Community following a finals series win over Ashaiman Lions.
