ATU (yellow) beat TTU

Accra Technical University (ATU) has qualified to the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship final game.

ATU clinched the spot in the final game after beating Takoradi Technical University (TTU) 52-37 in the second semifinal game.

The win means Accra Technical sets up a big matchup against University of Ghana (UG) in the final game for this year’s edition.

The final matchup is a rematch of the 2016 UPAC Final which UG to clinch the first of two straight titles in 2016 and 2017.

ATU Co-Captain Abdul Mutaleeb Alhassan led his side to the win pacing all scorers in the game with 15 points and added eight rebounds and six assists.

Strongman Kokou Tchede added 10 points; the two were the only ATU players to score in double digits in the crucial game.

Takoradi Technical Guard Benjamin Sagoe scored 14 points in the loss with Forward Patrick Obeng registering a game leading 15 rebounds.

TTU play University of Education-Winneba (UEW) for the bronze medal.
