Sunyani Technical University (STU) will be in action in the GSP Basketball League in Sunyani since returning from Ghana’s capital, Accra where the team competed in the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship knockout games.

STU competed in the knockout phase for the first time since 2011 recently but missed out on a semifinal spot after recording two losses and a win.

The team is on track to be play in GSP League Week 13 Games on Sunday April 22 at the Eusbett Court against Barracks Scorpions.

STU ranks fifth in the eight team standings while Scorpions falls a spot behind STU in sixth; however , both teams are tied on 15 points from winning four in 12 games played thus far.

The tertiary institution side will be counting on experience gathered from playing in Ghana’s most competitive tertiary basketball tournament to clinch a win.

Despite recording a 45-39 win over All Nations University College, STU lost 33-61 and 17-48 to University of Education-Winneba and Accra Technical University.
