Bentil in action for Reims

Basketballghana.com can confirm Ben Bentil did not play in RetaBet Bilbao’s 73-82 loss to UCAM Murcia in Round 33 of the Spanish Endesa League.

That game turned out to be the team’s official signal out of the division since it has officially been relegated. Talks of a possible merger are in the books to keep top division basketball in Bilbao.

However, for Ghana Forward Bentil, RetaBet’s relegation puts his career at a major crossroads since it does little to help his way back to the NBA.

Bentil’s promising College career has yet to translate to the professional game since getting drafted by Boston Celtics in 2016.

After getting cut by Boston, he played in China with Guanghui Flying Tigers and in the NBA Gatorade League’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

He then signed for Dallas Mavericks on a ten day contract before signing for French side Champagne Chalons-Reims and averaged 11 points.

His move to Spain earlier this year yielded little positives as his production and time on the court took massive hits. His next move is yet to be announced.
