Los Angeles Lakers Star Forward LeBron James is likely to participate in the NBA Africa Game in the future per the assertions of NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.

Silver’s statement following Team World’s 96-92 win over Team Africa in the exhibition game suggest the game’s biggest star could play on the continent soon.

Team World’s win was its third straight victory over Team Africa-NBA players of African descent- in Pretoria, South Africa. The game proceeds go into funding projects from the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

Silver said, “Both Amadou (Amadou Fall, NBA Managing Director for Africa) and I have spoken directly to LeBron James and he has stated he would very much like to come to Africa and be part of the game” in an interview with NBA.com after game.

This year’s competition attracted legends Dikembe Mutombo and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Toronto Raptors Manager Masai Ujiri.

Danilo Gallinari of Los Angeles Clippers was named Most Valuable Player of the game after scoring 23 points for Team World.
