Team Ghana

Ghana is a few minutes away from concluding its run in the Africa Cup of Nations FIBA 3X3 competition taking place in Cotonou, Benin.

The nation’s Male National Team will take on Mauritania in the final game at 16:00 GMT with Ghana needing a win to have any hopes of making it through to main competition.

Ghana lost 11-18 to Mali in the opening game and lost 16-19 to Gambia before clinching an 18-9 win over Ivory Coast ahead of the crunch game against Mauritania.

The Female side also played and lost against Mali in the opening game after falling 7-20 to the West African power house.

Ghana missed out on a win against Ivory Coast as the side lost in similar heavy fashion to the Ivorians; the side lost 4-14.

The competition comes to a close later tonight with games rounding the two day competition; the top finishers qualify to the main continental event later this year to be held in Togo.

Host Benin beat Niger 21-13 before falling 10-12 to Burkina Faso in the Male Division.
