Fire (red) clinched the win over Dunk
Ghana Fire Service has ended its run in the games marking the recommencement of the Accra Basketball League with wins in the Men’s Division I and Women’s Division.

The outfit had its Male and Female sides come off better in games against Navy Warriors and Dunk Basketball Club respectively.

In the Male Division, Fire beat Warriors 55-48 while its Female side recorded a 56-27 win over youthful side Dunk on Friday August 16.

The respective wins bolster the point tally for the teams with the Male side improving to 18 points from clinching five wins in 13 games played this season.

That is good enough to see the side move just ahead of Warriors in the standings for fifth place in the nine team standings.

For Fire’s Women’s Team, grabbing the double digit win over Dunk does little in terms of positioning in the six team standings.

Fire remains in fourth place tied on 13 points with third ranked Reformers of Prisons but Prisons hold a superior goal difference to rank a spot higher.
