Leopards v Dynamics in the first round (all black)

Dynamics (orange) lost for the 13th time this season against Leopards
Adenta Leopards got the better of DC Dynamics for the second time in the 2018 Accra Basketball League (ABL) season earlier tonight.

The team clinched a 61-51 win over Dynamics in a tough encounter that got chippy at the end of regulation at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.

Beating Dynamics gives Leopards the upper hand in the race for second place in the Men’s Division I ahead of Ghana Police Service who play tomorrow against Reformers of Prisons.

That aside Adenta has played a game fewer than Police which sets the team up nicely to maintain the spot regardless of the outcome of Saturday’s game.

On the other hand, the loss is Dynamics’ 13th of the current campaign and keeps the Dansoman-based side at the bottom of the nine team standings.

DC Guard Lantei Blankson-Mills drained a three point shot and Captain Dennis Boateng added a jumper to give Dynamics a 5-2 lead midway through the first quarter but Leopards ended quarter strong to tie score at 13.

Leopards opened the second quarter in excellent form stretching lead to 27-15 with former DC Dynamic Forward Nana Bissue Yankah scoring a couple of layups

Dynamics responded with a flurry of fast break points to trim deficit to 23-30 at half time; Emmanuel Mensah and Boateng connected on layups.

Blankson-Mills eye catching no look pass to Mensah for DC layup was a highlight in the third quarter but got pegged back with dead eye shooting from Leopards.

Shots from Muhaimin Guba and Charles Annan stretched Leopards lead to 43-30 with 2:55 left to play; Leopards ended the third quarter with a 47-32 lead.

Teams traded three pointers in the fourth quarter but Leopards ended with the ten point win.
