Ghana Guard Benjamin Debrah has expressed optimism regarding Ghana’s future participation and success in international competitions.

He made the statement in an interview on trendy morning program “Head Start” on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sport.

This came on the back of featuring for Ghana at the recent FIBA 3×3 Zone 3 African Championship in Cotonou, Benin from August 16-17.

Ghana missed out on progressing to the main continental Championship falling behind the likes of Nigeria and Mali.

However, the veteran Guard who has been playing for 15 years was bullish on the country’s chances of making it to the next level stating, “I am confident Ghana will get there”.

Ghana lost to Mali 18-11, Gambia 19-16 and Mauritania 21-19 respectively in the two day competition but recorded a high point by clinching an 18-9 win over Ivory Coast.

The West African nation’s impressive showing in the tournament resulted in an improved rank of 94 on the world stage and 13th on the African continent.
