Later in the week, the Cowbell “After 7 Fetu Afahy3” Basketball Tournament will commence in Ghana’s Central Region capital, Cape-Coast.

The two day competition tips off on Friday August 31 and is set to have several teams from regions in the West African nation compete.

Last season’s edition took place at the University of Cape-Coast’s newly built indoor arena which had security service teams dominate the competition.

The program has been funded over the years by food firm Promasidor Ghana Limited through its fast selling Cowbell dairy product.

Select teams from the Eastern, Central, Greater Accra, Western, Volta and Ashanti Regions are in line to participate in this year’s edition.

Teams from Greater Accra region have for several years topped the podium with teams made up of players from Ghana’s elite club division-Accra Basketball League (ABL).

The competition is held during the annual celebration of the Fetu Festival celebrated by folks with ties to the Cape-Coast district.

There will be no games in the ABL this week.
