Reigning Sprite Ball Champions Kumasi Girls High School (KGEE) has been named the Best School at the High School Excellence Awards in Kumasi recently.

The event which brought together Heads and top ranking representatives from 115 High Schools in Ghana’s Ashanti Region had Kumasi Girls walk away with two grand awards.

Aside emerging as the best in the sports category, KGEE Physical Education Head Joyce Agyei walked away with the top prize in the individual category as the Best PE Head in the Region.

Kumasi Girls have flat out dominated the Ashanti Region’s sports domain over the past months in multiple disciplines including Badminton and Netball.

The school placed first at zonal, regional and national competitions in Basketball and Hockey respectively in the year under review.

Kumasi Girls beat Accra Wesley Girls High School 30-29 in overtime to lift its first Sprite Ball Championship a year after falling short to Wesley Girls High School.

KGEE has made the Final Four of Sprite Ball since its maiden edition in 2016.
