Ghana Fire Service clinched a big win over Reformers of Prisons in the latest round of games in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division I.
Fire stunned Reformers with a 49-45 win at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu in the last round of games. The Prisons Court was the original venue but a late change was announced.
The result was a big shock given Reformers last game in the league was a 46-32 win over defending league champions Braves of Customs.
Fire beat Braves earlier in the season and proceeded to halt Prisons momentum with the win and close in on Reformers in the standings.
With the win, Fire moves to 15 points from winning six of nine games and sits just a point and a position behind Prisons.
Prisons on the other hand, miss out on getting past Braves to second place behind leaders Ghana Police Service; both teams are tied on 16 points.
A win would have been enough to get Prisons 17 points with both teams featuring in 10 appearances this season.
