Reports reaching Basketballghana.com indicate preseason games in the GSP Basketball League ahead of the 2018-2019 season start tips off on Saturday, September 15.
This was made known in a recent announcement by the league board with the start date for the new season close by; the new season starts on September 22.
The preseason games will be played a day after the close of registration for teams in the new season with Eusbett’s Court in Sunyani, the likely venue.
This forms part of a range of events lined up to mark what is expected to be an improvement on last season’s mad rush to the league title.
The first half of the season runs from September 22 to December 16 and the second part commences on February 9 and ends on May 18.
Plans have been made to accommodate two more teams in the league; the roster has had an eight team roster since 2016.
Suncity Braves won the 2017-2018 season ahead of then defending champions University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR).
