Tudu Magic Point Guard Ibrahim Mohammed has the lack of support for basketball in Ghana in a recent interview on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports.

The young floor general made the statement when commenting on the upcoming CAP 7 Memorial Basketball Tournament which tips off this weekend.

The competition will be held in honour of former Accra Basketball League (ABL) Chairman Benjamin Baafi who passed away a year ago.

Recollecting a moment he shared with the man affectionately called “Capito”, Mohammed stated in the interview:

“We went to play the Under 18 tournament in Benin and he did everything for us and we qualified but couldn’t go to the tournament because there was no money but Capito tried everything to get us help”.

The competition commences on Friday September 14 and ends on Saturday September 22 with all games taking place at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.

The 13 day tournament will have 14 teams competing with eight teams in the Male Division and six teams in the female division.
