A coaching building capacity workshop has been organized for selected basketball coaches in ahead of Giants of Africa (GOA) Camp in Prestea.
The third edition of the Camp rolls out from Friday October 12 to Sunday October 14 in Prestea in partnership with Golden Star Resources.
The technical program was organized at the MJ Grand Hotel in Ghana’s capital, Accra to brief trainer local based trainers prior to the event.
The workshop was headlined by Ghana Basketball Association Vice Chairman Iddrissu Ayambire and GOA Local Coordinator Neequaye Kotei.
A handful of coaches participated in the workshop including Chiefs Basketball Academy Trainer Benjamin Sarpong. Chiefs won the 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards Developmental Award.
DC Dynamics Coach Feranmi Olulonyo, Cape-Coast Hoops Care Foundation Coach Alfred Davies and Tesano Icons Coach James Ocloo also participated.
Ocloo served as Ghana’s Coordinator in September’s FIBA 3X3 Basketball Zone 3 Championship in Cotonou, Benin; he is expected to reprise his role at the main Championship in November.
54 young players selected from several locations in Ghana will participate in the Camp which prioritizes development of leaders in the sport and beyond it.
