After several delays, the GSP Basketball League 2018-2019 season looks set to commence later this week with Saturday, October 27 scheduled as the commencement day per reports.
As part of activities marking the new season, new teams have been given the green light by management to participate in the league.
Basketballghana.com gathers three teams will be added to the league’s roster with University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) pulling out to keep the roster at 10.
UENR won the 2016-2017 title and was a whisker away from successfully defending its title last season but missed out to Suncity Braves.
Techiman Merchants, Young Boys and Spartans are the reported new additions to the league’s roster which has had eight teams since its inception in 2016.
League games will be played at the Eusbett Court and Sunyani Technical Court with Braves as defending champions for the second time after winning the league’s maiden edition.
The league’s start has been hampered by several challenges in recent weeks.
