Two of the three new teams in the 2018-2019 GSP Basketball League will face off in the opening round of games later this week.

After several delays, the new season tips off on Saturday, October 27 at the Sunyani Technical University (STU)Court with the improved ten team roster competing.

Spartans, Techiman Merchants and Young Boys have been added to last season’s roster with University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) not competing in this season’s competition.

However, Merchants and Young Boys will face off in the fourth fixture of the round which will be played at the Eusbett Court.

Spartans will be involved in the opening game of the new season at 7:00 AM at the STU Court against Barracks Scorpions.

After having eight teams since the league’s commencement in 2015, the additions are indicative of the league’s growth over the years.

Suncity Braves are the defending champions and take on Catholic University College (CUCG) Saints in the first game.
