Uganda’s 3×3 Basketball Contingent flew out of Kampala earlier today per reports gathered by Basketballghana.com and is expected in Lome, Togo tonight ahead of the FIBA 3X3 Africa Cup.

The second edition of the continental competition takes place from November 9-11 with 12 nations participating in the Male and Female Divisions respectively.

Nigeria are defending Male Champions and Mali are Female defending champions but Uganda heads to the competition as the top ranked nation in the female division.

The East African nation is in Group A with Ghana and Cape-Verde and the Male Team is in Group C with Nigeria and Cape-Verde.

Africa’s top ranked 3×3 player Jamila Nansinkombi headlines the female group which has Ritah Imanishimwe, Hope Akello and Sarah Ageno. Nansinkombi, Imanishimwe and Akello play for JKL Dolphins.

Like Uganda, Ghana has a strong contingent from 2018 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division winning side Ghana Police Service. Balkisu Saleem, Zenabu Mohammed and Georgina Ntow make up the spine of the team.
