St. Louis

St. Louis Senior High School Basketball Coach Benjamin Sarpong has called for support for the team as preparations get underway for the next edition of the Sprite Ball Championship.

The team qualified to the national competition for the first time in seven years after placing second in the just ended Ashanti Regional Qualifiers.

St. Louis lost 12-19 to Kumasi Girls High School in the final game but managed to secure one of two qualifying spots to end its long drought.

Speaking exclusively to Basketballghana.com, Sarpong was happy with the team’s performances but believes his side can offer more once it gets the needed help.

“We need some resources to push the team. We have the most talented team in the region but because we don’t have those resources, we were not able to do better” he said.

St. Louis edged out the likes of Kumasi Wesley Girls, Tepa and Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High Schools to make it to the national competition which tips off in January, 2019.
