Despite losing for the first time this season, Spartans remain second in the 2018-2019 GSP Basketball League season after Week 4.

The team fell 11-22 to Sunyani Technical University (STU) in a low scoring game ending its winning streak in the division. This is Spartans maiden run in the league.

The debutants are second in the team league with seven points and one point behind league leaders Suncity Braves’ eight point tally.

The defending champions maintained its unbeaten record in the division with a 40-26 win over Desert Rabbits in the final game of the round.

Braves have won two league titles and are on course for a third especially in the absence of big rival University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) who are not participating this season.

Young Boys gained the most in Week 4 after demolishing Barracks Scorpions 72-27 to move to third in the league. LIR Royals beat Techiman Merchants 46-41.

West Siders deepened the woes of Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints with a 44-24 win. Below is a breakdown of the standings:gsp
