The 2018 Avenor Tutudoza Basketball Tournament concluded recently in Akatsi with a select side from Keta winning the competition.

The one day competition featured teams from several areas in Ghana’s Volta and Greater Accra Regions respectively to feature in activities as part of the annual festival celebrations.

Keta topped the team roster with a win over Flames of Aflao in a surprise turn of events given Keta’s underdog status heading to the tournament.

The winning team scored a double win on the big day as Keta’s Divine Avorgbedor was named Most Valuable Player of the Tournament after guiding Keta past host Akatsi Rifles in a crucial group stage game.

The tournament also had players compete in a three point shooting contest which was won by Mark Combey from Flames of Aflao.

Avorgbedor and Combey were presented with plaques for their outstanding individual efforts while Keta walked away with the ultimate prize.

The likes of 2017 Tema Community Basketball League Champions Tema Community 4 participated in the tournament.
