For the second straight year, West Africa Senior High School (WASS) will face the defending Sprite Ball Girls Division Champions.

The Adenta-based school has been drawn in Group A of the 2019 Sprite Ball Championship alongside 2018 Champions Kumasi Girls Senior High School, Mfantseman Girls Senior High School and Mawuli Senior High School.

Kumasi Girls won last year’s Championship courtesy a 30-29 win over Accra Wesley Girls High School in the final game.

In the 2018 Championship, WASS played then defending champs Wesley Girls High School at the preliminary stage in Group A with Ahantaman Girls Senior High, T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High and Accra Wesley Girls Senior High Schools respectively.

WASS missed out on progressing to the semifinals as Ahantaman and Accra Wesley Girls qualified from the group en route to winning bronze and silver medals respectively.

The Samuel Anaman led side face another tough battle to be one of two schools to progress from the group and battle for its maiden medal win in Ghana’s biggest high school basketball tournament.
