Accra Technical University (ATU) Women’s Basketball Team had no trouble booking its spot in the final game of the 2019 Ghana Technical Universities / Polytechnics Sports Association (GHATUSA) Games basketball event in the Female Division.
ATU earned a walk over win as Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) failed to show up for the scheduled game at 7:00 GMT at Accra Technical’s Court in Tudu.
The teams qualified to play in the semifinals of the latest edition of the multisport competition with athletes competing in sports disciplines including football, volley ball and handball.
ATU strolled into the game as the overwhelming favorites following wins in the preliminary stage in two games; ATU won the last edition in 2017.
However, Kumasi failed to honour the game with no official reason communicated from the team as at the time of writing.
ATU plays arch rival Takoradi Technical University (TTU) in the final game on Saturday, February 9 after TTU topped Koforidua Technical University 24-10 in the second semifinal played earlier today.
