Takoradi Technical University (TTU) Men’s Basketball Team has fallen short of winning the 2019 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

TTU lost 32-37 to University of Ghana (UG) in the final game of this year’s edition held at UG’s Central Court; the win is UG’s fourth straight title.

This was TTU’s first appearance in the UPAC Final game after consistently featuring in the semifinals of the competition.

TTU battled UG impressively after securing a 36-33 overtime win over Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The Takoradi institution trailed 3-8 to UG in the first quarter and whittled the deficit to four (14-18) at the end of the second half.

However, TTU had a very strong second half despite losing Captain and Shooting Guard Richard Donor to a head injury. Donor bumped heads with UG’s Johnson Okoe.

Benjamin Sagoe stepped in and got crucial buckets to give TTU a 24-21 third quarter lead but three point shots from Emmanuel Wolff and Treasure Botchwey got UG the game’s win.
