Ghana’s Ben Bentil is in line to feature in the Greece A1 Basketball League playoffs on Saturday, May 18 after a sketchy period the start date for the postseason was in doubt.

Giants Olympiakos and Panathinaikos had legal battles against the league at various points in the 2018-2019 season leading to the delay of the playoffs.

However, lingering issues have been cleared and the postseason will commence this weekend beginning tomorrow with three of four games to be played.

Bentil’s Peristeri GS will play Ifestos in the first round of the playoffs for a place in the semifinals on Saturday. Peristeri ended the regular season with 17 wins and nine losses.

Ifestos finished the season with a record of 13 wins and 13 losses in 26 regular season appearances. Ifestos lost 76-96 to Lavrio in the final game of the season.

Promitheas take on PAOK and AEK Athens takes on Holargos in the remaining games on Saturday. The eternal clash between Panathinaikos and Olympiakos comes on Monday, May 20.

Bentil averaged 11.5 points and 6.3 rebounds in his first season in Greece.
