Defending Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division Champions Ghana Police Service has ended its run in the first round of the 2019 campaign on a winning note.

The team bagged a 66-25 win over Ghana Prisons Service at the Prisons Court in Cantonments on Friday, July 20. The second and final game had Ghana National Fire Service beat University of Ghana (UG) 58-29.

Police has seven wins to its credit in eight games with its sole loss coming in a 46-56 defeat at the hands of bitter rival Braves of Customs. UG has just a win in seven games to its credit while Fire moved to four wins in seven appearances.

Later tonight, the final round of games in the Men’s Division I and II will take place with Braves of Customs taking on fierce rival Tema Youth in Division I. Braves unbeaten stretches beyond this season as the defending league champions clinched last season’s title without a loss.

In Division II, UG plays Junior Reformers with the former aiming to end the first round unbeaten. Panthers play Tudu Galaxy.
