Bentil during his time in France with Charlons Champagne Reims

Ghana Small Forward Ben Bentil did not feature in Panathinaikos 89-68 win over AEK Athens in the Greek Basketball League this past weekend.

After transferring from fellow Greek side Peristeri GS in the offseason, Bentil was one of several new faces on the roster expected to make an appearance.

However, the 6 foot 8 inch Forward did not compete for his new team as the Greek giant started the 2019-2020 campaign with a 21 point win.

Earlier in the week, Bentil joined fellow newcomers Jimmer Fredette, Wesley Johnson and Tyrese Rice for a photo shoot with a team from the EuroLeague.

Bentil will wear jersey number 50 for the season with the defending Greek Champions Basketballghana.com gathers.

The Sekondi native holds the record as the first Ghana born player to play in the NBA after a brief stint with Dallas Mavericks in 2017.

Bentil’s teammates DeShaun Thomas led all players with 26 points while Fredette scored 13 points. Dimitrios Kaklamanakis led Athens with 20 points.

Panathinaikos take on Lavrio next on October 5.
