Teshie Rangers did not show up to compete in its matchup against Tema Heat in the Tema Community Basketball League Basketballghana.com can confirm.

Rangers were expected to play Heat at Tema’s Community 4 Court in the first of four league games scheduled to be honoured at the venue.

However, Rangers failed to turn up for the game leading officials to hand the win to Heat via forfeiture; Heat also was awarded 20 points.

The Teshie based team has been poor for long stretches this season and ranks bottom of the 12 team league standings with four wins and 13 losses.

Rangers has 21 points to its credit and has felt the loss of key players Emmanuel Ocquaye and Point Guard Kingsley Quist who moved to join fellow league sides Spintex Knights and Nungua Coldstore respectively.

Rangers last appearance ended in a 36-53 loss to Tema Wildcats; Teshie competed in last season’s playoffs but is virtually out of the playoff picture this season with five games remaining on the regular season.
