Young Boys Basketball Club did not compete in preseason games organized by the GSP Basketball League prior to the start of the new season.
Preseason games were played at the Sunyani Technical University (STU) Court this past weekend but the defending league champions was absent.
No official word has been given regarding the team’s absence; three games were honoured at the aforementioned venue in Sunyani.
Two time league champions Suncity Braves beat Techiman Braves 32-25 while Desert Rabbits topped host STU 39-20 in games played on Saturday, October 4.
West Siders lost 12-32 to LIR in the follow up game on Sunday to round up the preparatory games; the 2019-2020 season is due to commence on Saturday, October 12.
Young Boys club was expected to feature and give fans a glimpse of its team for the upcoming campaign which is the team’s first as defending league champions.
The 2019-2020 season is scheduled to run from October to May next year.
