Former winners of the prestigious Sprite Ball Championship are set to headline the maiden edition of the Accra Mayor’s Cup next month.

Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC)-Osu and St. Mary’s Senior High School lead the eight school roster for the tournament which takes place on Saturday, November 2.

The Bukom Arena will host the basketball competition organized by Rite Sports Limited in honour of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) Mayor Mohammed Adjei Sowah.

Eight teams representing Senior High Schools exclusively in Ghana’s capital, Accra have been selected to play in the one day tournament.

PRESEC Osu won Ghana’s biggest High School basketball tournament-Sprite Ball- in 2018 while St. Mary’s won the 2017 edition in the Girls Division.

PRESEC Osu, PRESEC Legon, St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Sacred Heart Technical Institute will compete in the Boys Division.

St. Mary’s, Accra Wesley Girls High School, West Africa Senior High School and Accra High School will compete in the Girls Division.

The Mayor’s Cup is to be played in a single game elimination format.
