OWASS v Prempeh in 2018 Ashanti Regional Final.

Opoku Ware School (OWASS) and Prempeh College’s dominance in the Boys Division of the Ashanti Regional Basketball landscape continues unabated.

The two schools came out on top in the just ended regional competition to progress to the Sprite Ball Championship; Sprite Ball is Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition.

OWASS piped Prempeh 27-26 to win the 2019 Regional Championship held at the Our Lady of Grace Senior High School in Mampongteng.

The win ensured OWASS successfully defended its title after winning last year’s edition which was the first held at Our Lady of Grace.

Both schools will represent the region in the upcoming Sprite Ball for the umpteenth time as they have ruled the division for over a decade.

OWASS is a former Sprite Ball Champion (2017) and finished in third place in the 2019 Championship; Prempeh is a former Silver medal winner.

St. Louis Senior High School topped in the Girls Division and will represent the region alongside reigning Sprite Ball Champions Kumasi Girls High School.
