Mfantsiman at the 2019 Sprite Ball

After excelling at the last Sprite Ball Championship, Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School will miss the chance to build on that performance at the next Sprite Ball.

Mfantsiman failed to qualify to the 13th edition of Ghana’s biggest High School basketball tournament from the Central Regional qualifiers.

The upcoming Sprite Ball runs from January3 to January 4 at the El Wak Stadium in Ghana’s capital, Accra with 20 schools expected to compete.

12 schools will participate in the Boys Division and eight schools will participate in the Girls Division but Mfantsiman won’t feature on the roster.

The Saltpond based school won silver at the 2019 competition following a 14-22 loss to Kumasi Girls Senior High School in the final.

However, the school missed out on the region’s sole qualification spot; Wesley Girls Senior High School topped the Girls Division beating Adankwaman Senior High School to the spot.

Mfantsiman has two Bronze medals at the Sprite Ball to its credit. Sprite Ball is headlined by Coca-Cola and organized by Rite Sports.
