Koforidua Senior High Technical School (KSTS) won’t compete in the Sprite Ball Championship next year after failing to qualify from the Eastern Regional qualifiers played over the weekend.

KSTS has had success at Ghana’s biggest High School Basketball tournament placing third on two occasions and ranking second once.

Following a string of disappointing appearances at the competition in recent years, the school won’t extend the streak further.

KSTS failed to qualify from the zonal division and automatically eliminating them from competing at the regional level; the regional games were played this past weekend at the Pope John Senior High School in the capital, Koforidua.

Home team Pope John secured another qualification with Asuom Senior High School securing the final qualification spot available in the Boys Division.

12 schools will compete in the Boys Division at the 2020 Sprite Ball to be held from January 3 to January 4 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.

Krobo Girls Senior High School topped the Girl’s Division.

The upcoming Sprite Ball is the 14th edition; Sprite Ball is organized by Rite Sports Limited and sponsored by Coca-Cola Company.
