Shama Senior High School (SHASS) Girl’s Basketball team is set to begin camping early after securing qualification to the 2020 Sprite Ball Championship according to SHASS Physical Education Instructor Paul Ampaw.

He made the statement in a chat with Basketballghana.com after SHASS beat Fijai Senior High School 17-3 in the Western Region qualifiers that took place this past weekend at the St. John’s School in Sekondi.

SHASS won bronze at the 2019 Sprite Ball and plans to perform better in next year’s competition which runs from January 3 to January 4 at the El Wak Stadium in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

“We will start camping earlier than before so that at least they can know the inter positional play very well…so we will camp them earlier so that we can do one or two things before the tournament” he said.

Shama won all games at the regional level including a 20-0 win over Half Assini Senior High School and a 6-2 Badu Bonsoe Senior High School.

Host St. John’s Senior High School and Sekondi College will represent the Western Region in the Boys Division.
