The main court of 2020 Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games Host University of Ghana (UG) is undergoing a major face lift ahead of the biannual sports competition.

The institution’s Legon Campus will host next year’s multi sport event from January 3 to January 19 with 11 public universities expected to compete.

UG’s main court will host basketball games in the Men’s and Women’s Divisions respectively but the facility will have a brand new look come January.

Workers were busy smoothening the hitherto slightly rough surface at the venue at the time Basketballghana.com visited the Campus to check on preparation with 10 days to the event’s commencement.

Other facilities at Legon including the stadium are undergoing similar improvement with over 1000 athletes set to participate in the 16 day competition.

UG topped the Men’s Division in Basketball at the 2016 and 2018 editions are aiming for a third straight gold medal while the Women’s Team placed second at the 2018 edition held at the University of Development Studies Campus in Tamale.

Participating institutions include Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
