Basketballghana.com can confirm preparations have stepped up in the lead up to the 2020 Sprite Ball Championship which runs from January 3-4.

The prestigious games are to be hosted at the El Wak Stadium in Ghana’s capital, Accra with 20 schools expected to compete in the tournament.

With less than 24 hours to the start of the competition, Ghana’s leading basketball portal visited the host venue and learnt of the latest development.

Workers were busy painting the backboard and sections of the restricted area at the time of visit with the sidelines also expected to get repainted.

Over30 games are to be played at the venue over the weekend to determine winners of the 14th edition of the West Africa nation’s biggest High School basketball tournament. Mfantsipim School and Kumasi Girls Senior High School are defending champions in the Boys and Girls Divisions respectively.

The El Wak Stadium has been home to Sprite Ball for several years since the competition’s inception in 2007; the tournament used to be held at the Aviation Social Center in Accra.
