2020 Sprite Ball Girls Champions Shama Senior High School

Shama Senior High School has emerged winners of the 2020 Sprite Ball Championship after clinching a one point win in the final game.

Shama beat St. Louis Senior High School 15-14 to lift the Girls Division title for the first time ever in the school’s history. The final game took place at the El Wak Stadium in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

St. Louis will feel hard done by after leading the contest for the most part and had the chance to send the game into overtime.

Forward Sandra Dankorah missed both free throws in the dying seconds to hand the win to Shama after good work from Deborah Osei and Grace Kombetto.

It was a first final for both teams and represents an improved mark for both teams as Shama placed third in the 2019 Championship ahead of St. Louis Senior High School who placed fourth.

Two time winners Kumasi Girls Senior High School placed third and walk away with the bronze medal after bagging a 14-6 win over Osu-PRESEC.

Gifty Nkrumah from Shama won the Girls Most Valuable Player Award and George Hanson was named Coach of the Tournament.
