Two time Tema Community Basketball League Champions Nungua Coldstore Basketball Club is set to headline a competition to support teammate Gerald Sappor.
Power Forward Sappor has been diagnosed with Leukemia and has missed out on Coldstore’s playoff run in the Tema League.
To raise awareness about Leukemia and funds to support his treatment, the team will headline the event on February 9 at the University of Ghana (UG) Main Court.
The tournament tips off at 15:00 GMT and has four teams due to participate; Sappor is a stakeholder in all four competing teams.
Aside Coldstore, UG’s Men’s Basketball Team, Tema League’s All Star Team and Accra Basketball League All Star Team will participate in the one day event this weekend.
Sappor starred for UG before graduating in 2019; he won the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Championship in 2018 and 2019.
He plays for Tema Youth in the Accra League and has been a main stay for Coldstore helping the team win two league titles.
Ghanaian Actor turn Politician John Dumelo will grace the occasion.
