Takoradi Technical University v University of Mines and Technology in 2020 UPAC Zone Two Qualifier

The dates to determine the winner for the 2020 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship are likely to be changed in the wake of the Corona Virus outbreak.

The worldwide pandemic has already forced several activities in the sports world to a halt and Ghana has been hit hard by the disease that has infected nine people in the country.

To control the spread of the virus, a month long ban on all social gatherings has been issued by Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo.

In respect to the directive, the 2020 UPAC has been suspended after completing fixtures in Zone One and Zone Two in Koforidua and Cape Coast respectively.

Radford University topped Zone One

Zonal winners progress to the national stage to battle for Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball title; 32 teams have been grouped in eight zones.

TTU (black) topped Zone 2

The national competition was due to run from April 16 to April 18 in Accra but there are six more zones to cover once the ban is lifted which definitely means a shift in dates for the national stage.

The 2020 UPAC is sponsored by MTN, CAL Bank and Decathlon.
